Paralegal – Crime Team Birmingham Office\n£24,784.50 per annum FT\n\nWe are seeking a diligent and empathetic Criminal Law Paralegal to join the team in our Criminal Law team in our Birmingham office.\nThe ideal candidate will have a strong background in criminal law, exceptional communication skills, and a sincere commitment to assisting clients through complex legal procedures. As a Case Worker, you will collaborate with solicitors in handling cases involving criminal charges, investigations, trials, and other criminal law matters. This role presents an opportunity to contribute significantly to the lives of individuals entangled in legal matters.\n\nYour Profile:\nThe ideal candidate for the Paralegal role will have a strong background in Criminal Law and will demonstrate:\n\n * Excellent Communication Skills\n\n * A sincere commitment to supporting clients through challenging legal proceedings\n\n * A proven ability in managing cases related to criminal charges, investigations, trials, and other criminal law matters.\n\n * Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the capacity to establish rapport and trust with clients from diverse backgrounds.\n\nWe expect the ideal candidate to:\n\n * Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.\n\n * Conduct thorough initial consultations with clients to gather information regarding their legal matters and personal circumstances.\n\n * Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to bolster case preparation and strategy formulation.\n\n * Coordinate with clients, opposing parties, and relevant professionals involved in cases to collect evidence and exchange information.\n\n * Manage case files meticulously, ensuring accuracy and organisation of all documentation.\n\n * Assist in scheduling court hearings and meetings, on behalf of clients.\n\n * Attend court hearings and other legal proceedings as necessary, taking notes and assisting with case presentation.\n\n * Uphold confidentiality and adhere to professional standards and ethical guidelines\n\n * consistently.\n\nWhat we are seeking for the Paralegal role:\n\n * A candidate capable of adapting quickly to the role.\n\n * Familiarity with legal aid processes.\n\n * Previous experience in a legal environment, preferably in criminal law.\n\n * Ideally the candidate will have police station accreditation or alternatively a commitment to obtaining this within the first 12 months.\n\nWorking with us:\nWe offer continuous training and support to foster your professional growth as a valued member of our dynamic and expanding team.\nWe will offer ongoing training and support to develop your career as part of a strong and growing multi-office team.\nOur offices are friendly, working entirely paperless with recent significant investment in modern IT to enable you to work proficiently.
