SEN Teaching Assistant\n Location: Aston, B6\n Pay Rate: £110 - £120 per day\n Start Date: ASAP \n Contract: Monday - Friday, long-term temp to perm.\n Long Term Futures are recruiting for a confident and adaptable KS1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Aston, Birmingham. This varied role will involve a mixture of PPA cover, delivering targeted phonics interventions, and supporting pupils in group settings with special educational needs across Key Stage 1.\n This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working across different classrooms, has a strong understanding of phonics, and is passionate about supporting children with additional needs within a nurturing learning environment. The role would also suit an Early Career Teacher looking to build confidence, gain valuable classroom experience across KS1, and further develop their behaviour management, intervention and SEN support skills within a supportive school setting.\n Key Responsibilities:\n\nProvide classroom support across KS1 during PPA cover sessions\nDeliver small group phonics interventions to support early reading development\nSupport pupils with SEN, including ASD, ADHD and SEMH\nAdapt learning activities to meet individual learning needs\nSupport pupils' engagement, confidence and emotional wellbeing\nAssist with classroom routines, behaviour management and transitions\nWork closely with teachers and the SENCO to ensure consistent supportIdeal Candidate Profile:\n\nLevel 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or relevant experience)\nExperience working within KS1/EYFS and an understanding of the KS1 curriculum\nStrong understanding of phonics schemes such as Read Write Inc or Letters & Sounds\nPrevious experience supporting pupils with SEN\nConfident leading small groups and covering classes where required\nPositive, flexible and proactive attitude\nStrong behaviour management and communication skillsWhy Work with Long Term Futures?\n\nLong-term placements offering stability and meaningful impact\nWeekly pay via our streamlined digital system\nFree CPD including Behaviour Management, SEMH and Positive Handling\nA dedicated consultant providing ongoing guidance and supportApply with your CV today to discuss this role in further detail.
