Registered Manager Children's Residential Home

Location:New Forest area of Hampshire
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience. £35,000-£50,000
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Registered Manager to lead a children's residential home supporting young people in a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment.

You will be responsible for the overall management of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care, safeguarding, compliance, and team performance.

The successful candidate will play a key role in creating a positive, child-centred culture where young people can thrive, develop independence, and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strong leadership and day-to-day operational management of the home.
  • Recruit, supervise, develop, and motivate a high-performing staff team.
  • Lead by example and promote best practice across all areas of service delivery.
  • Ensure full compliance with Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, and safeguarding requirements.
  • Maintain high standards of care and support that contribute to positive Ofsted outcomes.
  • Manage all regulatory requirements, notifications, policies, and procedures.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of individual care plans.
  • Work collaboratively with social workers, healthcare professionals, education providers, and families.
  • Ensure children receive the support, stability, and opportunities needed to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Promote the physical, emotional, educational, and social wellbeing of all young people.
  • Manage budgets and resources effectively.
  • Ensure the home remains safe, welcoming, and appropriately maintained.
  • Monitor staffing levels, rotas, and operational performance.

Essential Requirements:
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards).
  • Minimum 2 years' experience within a children's residential setting in the last 5 years.
  • At least 1 year's experience in a supervisory or management position within a children's residential home.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding procedures, child protection legislation, and Ofsted regulations.
  • Eligible to register with Ofsted as a Registered Manager.
Desirable:
  • Experience leading a home to a Good or Outstanding Ofsted rating.
  • Therapeutic care experience or training.
  • Full UK driving licence.
